membership is roughly 85 % of total membership for 2005 and represents a drop
of 73 members. Membership was emphasized
in each WV LIBRARIES issue as well as at Spring Fling and with renewal letters.
The date
for membership changed this year to reflect the fiscal year for the Association
so all forms and letters were sent in December 2005 rather than January 2006.

This year
we were able to get a second P.O. Box key since the previous second key was
nowhere to be found (for years). That second key is kept by Olivia Bravo. The
annual renewal for the box was moved up and caught us by surprise but Lynne
took care of this with ease.
The first
annual new member welcome breakfast was held at the Clarion Hotel and looked to
be very successful. The second new member welcome breakfast is to be held at
the Radisson Hotel in
The
committee met twice to develop drafts for a membership survey and current
membership of committee members. These were passed on to WVLA President Martha
Yancey to present to the Executive Board.
The
committee will recommend that the membership form be changed to place the
"return to" address at the top of the form instead of the bottom. This will be passed on to the incoming Second
Vice-President
My sincere
thanks to both Lynne and Julie! They were always there when I needed them and
worked diligently on whatever I passed on to them. If I needed a shoulder to lean on, they were
there. It was an honor to work with them.
