WVLA Director's Roundtable

2005 Report

 

The Director's Roundtable held two meetings this past year. One in June, a general meeting to discuss the role of the Director's Roundtable, that to schedule a few meetings other than the conferences would help maintain communication amongst the members, and to find out what goals the Roundtable would like to look to this coming year. It was decided to focus on the AR's and a second meeting was scheduled in July to just discuss the AR's. Pam Coyle organized the meeting and had several librarians volunteer to be facilitators for various groups, summaries from each group is attached and I thank Pam Coyle and all of those who helped and attended.

 

Other items brought before the Director's was the inquiry of a proposed Libraries Appreciation Day Banquet to honor Librarians, Directors, Trustees, Friends, supporters of libraries, etc. This Banquet would be held once a year and WVLA members, the WVLC or a WV Library could submit proposals for honorees.  This proposal had positive feedback, but it was suggested that it be brought to the attention of the WVLA Board and discussed further with them.

 

Library activities or personal attention to home and family does not always permit for attendance to meetings.

I am not attending Fall Conference in Shepherdstown but do plan to keep active with the Directors Roundtable, and with your approval - I would be willing to serve as Chairman again.
