2004 Annual Report of the Technical Services Roundtable

Submitted: November 9, 2004

Submitted by: Heather Campbell, Chair

Accomplishments

The Technical Services Roundtable major accomplishment was that in fact it was formed this past year.  This accomplishment is due to the hard work done by Pamela Ford in gaining petitions at the last Annual Conference for its formation.  Its purpose is to address issues related to technical services and to help in continuing education for technical services staff in the state.

During this year's Spring Fling, the Roundtable convened for the first time, and elected to elect its first officers: chair, Heather Campbell, West Virginia Library Commission and vice-chair, William Rafter, West Virginia University Libraries.

At the 2004 Annual Conference, the Roundtable will meet to discuss and to ratify its by-laws.

Recommendations

To address the needs of Technical Services staff in the next year, the recommendations are as follows:

.           To further deliver continuing educational programming at West Virginia Library Association's Spring Fling and Annual conferences;

.           To identify topics in Technical Services areas where new developments are occurring and disseminate information about such developments statewide;

.           To promote the existence of the Roundtable.
