Annual Report

• The Division was represented at the January, June and September meetings of the Executive Board.

• An “Academic Track” was presented at Spring Fling with the Division sponsoring the following sessions on Thursday:

• Using WebCT for Student Assistant Orientation
• Surviving Office Politics
• Our Changing World
• When do we use Paraprofessionals at the Reference Desk
• Getting ILL Materials from WVU: It’s Easy!!

• In early March the Library Deans from Marshall University and WVU, and librarians from MU, FSU and WVU met via polycom to discuss programming at WVLA functions. The goal is to have programs that would be of interest to academic librarians and staff. Discussion also centered on increasing Division membership.

• At the Division meeting held during Spring Fling, those attending agreed that we would put forth a motion at the Association Annual Meeting to change our name from “College and University Division” to “Academic Division.”

• At the same meeting, the address for the Division listserv was circulated and resulted in several names being added to the list. The Division meeting attendees adjourned to attend the Legislative Committee meeting.

• The Division is sponsoring several speakers for the Annual Conference.
